Tomorrow, we have the great opportunity to interview
Dr. Joseph Pisano, Assistant Chairman of Music and Fine Arts at Grove City College in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Dr. Pisano will be discussing with several items with us, such as using classical music archives in the classroom, and some of the equipment that can be used, and using more modern music without breaking copyright rules. He can only be with us for one hour, so be sure to have your headphones on at the top of the hour to get in on the entire call.
Dr. Pisano also publishes the fabulous
Mustech.net Blog, possibly the finest blog on bringing music and technology into the classroom, on the net today. If you haven't visited this blog yet, you need to take some time and familiarize yourself with the myriad of great articles there, and get on the mailing list. Currently, the blog is engaged in a campaign to get 100 Music Education bloggers listed on his site by the end of the year. I am proud to say that "...the music is free..." is already among the first group of eighteen bloggers. You can read
more about the campaign here, and if you don't have a blog, you can also find out how you too, can become a supporter or Friend of the ME Blog. If you already have a music education blog, then
get on the list as soon as you can....it's becoming a phenomenal community.
Again, we will be webcasting via Lee's
Live WebBridges. Just go to the page, and click on the arrow in the EdTech Talk Ustream window on the right or text chat into the text chat box (just choose a username, no password is required). Everything is pretty self explanatory. Dr. Pisano will make a presentation and answer some interview questions from Elderbob and Lee, and then you will be invited to log in on Skype and ask questions or make direct comment to Dr. Pisano.
If you miss the live session, we will also be recording it, and will try to get it back online on the following day, so everyone will have an opportunity to hear Dr. Pisano.
I hope to see you all there.
