Music technology in the classroom

Do you remember a time when music was not there?

All of us have memories associated to a tune. Music is and has always been part of our lives. Has it ever happened to you that you are doing something not paying attention to the music you are listening on the radio, for example, and suddenly, you hear a familiar tune that immediately makes you go back to a moment in you past when you listened to that piece of music?

That has to do with different processes in your brain that anchored memories and music together because you felt pleasure.

It is interesting to bare in mind that for our classes! When students feel pleasure and enjoy what they are doing that moment will be remembered for ever.

My parents were always listening to music and I can say that I grew up listening to all types of music: there were moments for my mom's Bizet's Carmen or Vivaldi and my dad's Mexican romantic music or his Paraguayan or Argentine folklore. My younger sister and I love The Beatles and Genesis and my elder sister The Platters or Tom Jones. There was always music on at home.

Now that I am older I still can spend hours just listening to my favourites and singing along! I can't think of a moment when I am not singing or humming a tune.

Music is definitely part of my life.
